Camping pre Rat Is. Regatta
jeffwinnevada
Deb,
Thanks for the reminder, so I could nail down a reservation.
FYI, Campers:
If you've registered with Washington State Parks and forgotten your password, click on "Forgotten your password?click here" To change the password after logging in, when you get to this page, https://secure.camis.com/WA/Home.aspx click on "View, Change or Cancel a reservation online".
Currently, I see five campsites available at Ft. Flagler, upper campground, none in the lower campground.
Nothing available at Fort Worden nor at Fort Townsend.
:)
Jeff

Huki V1B for sale. Carbon fiber layup, 2 Amas: one flat water and one surfing. Three rudders: small, medium and surfing. Huki covers for hull and ama. Really good shape. Some cosmetic flaws from use but well taken care of. This is a good high volume canoe for a dry ride. It is fast! Email me for pics. You can pick her up at the Rat Island and race your new OC-1! $3000. Outfit would cost close to $6K to buy new.

If you are camping, book early. Campsite reservations at Fort Woren fill up fast. Camping here is so popular that they have their own Reservation System. NO PHONE RESERVATIONS: http://www.parks.wa.gov/parkpage.asp?selectedpark=Fort+Worden&pageno=1

Pardon the important omission in last email about Rat Island Regata
WA State Discover Pass Required for Fort Worden State Park (and Fort Flagler if you camp there). $10/day pass or $30/annual pass -- strictly enforced. (a ticket costs much more than a pass). -- plus its a good deal for a worthwhile government organization.
State Parks provide human powered boat racers with great public water access!
Discover Pass easily obtainable online: http://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/You can also buy it at the park, but only during their office hours. I strongly recommend buying it in advance, either online, at any other State Park, or at Retail Outlets who sell them (see online). This will save you hassle if you come late Friday night.
Thanks,Debbie

Another option for campsites in the Port Townsend
area is the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. It is located not far
from Fort Worden and usually has campsites available when the fair is not
running. Just another possibility.
