I have not been to a sprint regatta that had a sea kayak category. Here in Seattle, we only do sprint boats on Green Lake, and we spread it over two days.
The fact that Dan is able to fit all these events, and get it done somehow in one day, is amazing.
My $.02.
Dan,I see no place for sea kayaks here. While you include SUP's? and surf-skis. . . and outriggers. . .and paracanoes? That is surely unfortunate.

If you wanted to be fair, you would acknowledge that you have also never been to a sprint regatta that has had an SUP category, or an Outrigger Canoe category, or a Surf Ski category (except for outrigger-specific sprint regattas).
So I think it's great that this event is way more inclusive than the typically narrow-focused USACK sprint regatta, and because of that I bet it'll be way more fun. Which makes me feel it's even more unfortunate that this fund-raiser's inclusiveness was not extended to the world of sea kayaking, which has more active participants in the northwest than the other three paddlesports combined.
To be fair, this new club is a sprint club, and this is a sprint regatta.
