Race fees

Hi Steve,

I appreciate your thoughts on this matter.

1. How does charging $15 per non-member reduce the rate we
have charged members in the past? On Saturday non-members
will be paying $15 for the race fee to Sound Rowers, plus
$5 parking to the State Parks. This adds up to $20 that a
non-member will pay to be in the race.

2. Non-member kids will have a discount of $3 off the $15
non-member race fee. This brings the race fee cost to $12.
$8 goes to insurance, $4 goes to pay for race expenses.
We'll probably end up subsidizing the kid a little for
his food and award, but if we have enough adults entering
this should not be a problem.

By the same token, a Sound Rowers junior member will be
paying only $4. The insurance FOR THE YEAR(!) is included
in his Sound Rowers membership, so the entire $4 goes to
paying race expenses. This is the same as for the non-member.

A non-Sound Rowers MRA junior member pays $7. We actually
make $7 from this junior member as there are no additional
insurance costs associated with this person.

3. I asked the ranger at the park back in December about
this. At that time he said every vehicle has to pay the
parking fee and there was no group rate. I'll check again
today to make sure the policy has not changed.

Best regards,

Subject: [SoundRowers] Race fees

1. No $15 is not too high. It represents a fee that
is comensurate with cost. It reduces by $3 the rate
we have charged non-members in the past.($7
members;$10 non-members) That $3, which has
contributed to the growth of our treasury will no
longer be coming come back to us. That should be
considered.

2. By the same logic, non-member kids will be paying
nearly half what members pay; and we lose the other $3
as well. I suggest a youth membership fee of $15 and
no discount for race fees.

3. Has anyone looked into group use fees for the
parks?
