Can someone give me an opinion on the Dreher Apex-R oars for use in open water?

I've rowed various hatchets (such as the Concept 2 Smoothie2) on both flat and open water and don't care for them under rough conditions.

The Apex-R look like a reasonable compromise, and I don't want to use Macons.
